Castle Privacy Policy: What We Collect & Why
Last updated:
Castle is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of transparency and digital safety for our community across India. This Privacy Charter explains our methods for handling technical information in strict accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act). We focus on providing a secure navigational environment while respecting the boundaries of user anonymity.
1. Privacy-First Design: No Personal Data Needed
We operate under a "Privacy-First" engineering model. Castle is designed to function as an automated indexing utility, meaning we do not require the ingestion of personal life data to provide our search services. Our systems prioritize the conservation of data, only processing technical telemetry that is vital for maintaining application stability and performance across the Android ecosystem.
2. Technical Metadata We Collect: Full Breakdown
To ensure our application remains compatible with the wide variety of devices in the Indian market, we process limited technical metadata:
- Hardware Attributes: We identify your device model, processor type, and operating system version to optimize video rendering.
- Interface Preferences: Your choice of language, subtitle settings, and display themes are stored locally to personalize your experience.
- Service Syncing: We maintain temporary logs of your search history and bookmarks to allow you to resume your sessions across multiple Android devices.
- Network Stability Logs: We analyze approximate connection speeds to route search results through the most efficient paths based on your regional ISP.
3. Financial & Sensitive Data: Zero Access Policy
To protect our users in both urban centers and rural districts, Castle maintains a strict "Zero-Access" policy regarding sensitive information. We believe your entertainment choices should never put your financial or civil security at risk.
Castle strictly does not request, store, or transmit:
- Official Identifiers: No Aadhaar numbers, PAN card details, or Voter ID records.
- Banking Credentials: No bank account numbers, credit/debit card info, or UPI handles.
- Biometric Data: No fingerprints, iris scans, or facial recognition markers.
- Private Communications: We do not access your SMS logs, phonebook, or private image galleries.
4. Using Castle on PC: Emulator Data Privacy
Castle is built natively and exclusively for the Android platform. We do not distribute a standalone version for Windows or macOS. Users who prefer a larger screen experience on a computer strictly require an Android Emulator (such as BlueStacks or LDPlayer).
In these scenarios, our application only interacts with the virtualized "sandbox" of the emulator software. Castle cannot access your host computer's primary folders, private files, or browser data. Your main PC environment remains entirely shielded from our background processes, so you can use our Castle on your computer with no doubt.
5. How to Delete Your Castle Data
Under the DPDP Act, 2023, you are the "Data Principal" with significant authority over your digital footprint. Castle provides several tools to help you manage your information:
- Manual Purge: You can clear your local search history and app cache instantly through the "Settings" menu.
- Preference Updates: You may modify your regional or language settings at any time without restriction.
- Information Deletion: If you wish to permanently remove any synchronization metadata linked to your device ID, you may submit a request via our official support portal.
6. Legal Compliance & Grievance Officer Contact
If you have a complaint or require clarification on our data protocols, please contact us through our official website portal. We acknowledge all formal inquiries within 24 hours and aim for full resolution within the 15-day statutory window required by Indian law.
